Author Bio

Dawn Thomas is an artist and art educator who discovered Kinetic Sculpture Racing and found her passion. She taught herself to weld so that she and her partner could build their own kinetic sculptures, which they race up and down the West Coast during the summers. The Kinetic Kompendium is the result of wanting to share her passion with friends and family, and unintentionally opening up an incredible history of a unique human-powered Kinetic Sculpture Race whose “Glorious Founder,” Hobart Brown and passionate community have alive for 50 years.
